There is an official retiree in the house!
The ceremony was held at MCTSSA on Camp Pendleton. The weather was touch and go all week. Friday morning, the rain let up and blue shies began to peek out. The ceremony began at 2:00 pm, and at 1:55 pm, it began to rain. Quite a bit. We got a bit wet (not nearly as wet as the Marines in the formation or the band), but it didn't dampen our spirits.
Tim never let me know what he was going to say during his speech. It was perfect...witty, reverent and funny...just like him. I will post the video in a moment.
After the ceremony, we headed to the Del Mar Community Center on base for the reception. Yummy tri-tip and chicken (and more), wonderful friends and family and a lot of great conversation - a perfect evening.
We wrapped up the weekend with a camping outing at the beach. It rained cats and dogs, and more. Check out the photo taken of the front of our motorhome this morning (note the mat floating and the submerged bottom of Tim's car!)
