So today marks 18 years of wedded bliss. Well, we have always been wedded, but the bliss thing might be shy of 18 years. Just kidding. :)

At any rate, we are happy to be here, at a point that not everyone achieves. We spent the evening watching our wedding video with the kids. A couple of funny observations:
  • All of our parents' friends that seemed so old, are not that much older than we are now. Case in point, my mom was only 40 when I got married (I will see that birthday next year!). Freaky!
  • Many of the people who attended our wedding were quite tipsy by the time the videographer made his rounds.
  • You forget how big your hair was in 1990.

I think my favorite part of watching the video was being able to see those familiar faces that aren't with us anymore, like Grandma Phoebe, Nick and Joe. Better than looking at their photos, being able to hear them speak ("yes, Kelsey...my grandma did just swear on the video."). And speaking of "speaking," I had forgotten that Jim had threatened Tim in the video. Too funny!

I am glad we watched it tonight because we realized how much the quality of the tape is fading and are in the process of saving it to dvd. As soon as we do that, I may include a few clips here.

After the video, all four of us enjoyed cake and sparkling cider. Happy anniversary to us!
