There are some great things about being a military family...moving to different places and meeting new people. There are also some very difficult things about being a military family...moving to new places and saying goodbye to good friends. Over the last 18 years, I have made about 8 dear, close friends that I know will be in my life forever. Heaven forbid, however, I should be able to live near all of them at the same time.

We are fortunate that with Tim being stationed at Camp Pendleton and Miramar, we have been able to remain in the same area for over 8 years. So although we have bid adieu to some close friends, a few have returned to the area and we are able to pick up where we left off.

Tonight we celebrated the return of the Wardinsky family to Camp Pendleton. :) We have survived school years, hospitalizations, births and deployments together. Ali was a favorite babysitter when Kyle and Kelsey were younger and we can see the torch is about to be passed as Kelsey will probably watch Nathan and Emma someday soon. It was great to be together, share a meal and go out for a movie tonight.

Now, before I could be too happy, tonight we also said goodbye to the Caleys. They were stationed here before and I was there for Liam's birth. They moved away and came back again (and had another baby here!) and are now on their way back east for another duty station. We will miss them. :(
