Last night, we went to the MCTSSA Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It was held at the Harrah's Rincon Casino, which actually looks fairly Vegas-like, though it is seriously in the middle of nowhere. Ali stayed with the kids overnight, so we could make an evening out of it and not have to drive the scary, windy, two-lane road home late at night.

I have had a cold all week that has left me with laryngitis. I think the only creatures that can understand me at this point are dogs and possibly Danielle, since she had it last week and speaks "squeak".

Anyhow, so we went to the Ball, and had a yummy dinner, and talked (or pantomimed) with people. Tim had a reprieve from dancing this year since I wasn't feeling well. R.Lee Ermey (an actor famous for his role in Full Metal Jacket) was the guest speaker. After the ball, we gambled with the $10 free slot play coupons we were given as hotel guests and Tim won $50. Ooh-rah!
