The OWC planned a fun social outing for today: tapings of the Dr. Phil show and The Price is Right. Now, I have been to Dr. Phil before and swore to never return. Alas, the lure of Drew Carey caused me to eat my words.
We had to be at the parking lot by 4:50 am to be on the charter bus. Poor Debbie had to leave Ramona at an insane 3 something am. :/ But we made it and everyone was excited to be there.
Dr. Phil was painful both physically and emotionally. The studio was (and I am not even exaggerating) probably 55 degrees. Seriously. We were freezing. And the topics were difficult to listen to. One funny note, I have been sick all week and still have a lingering cough. At one point I was trying so hard not to cough while the film was rolling...trying to stifle it until tears started rolling down my face. The camera stopped on me because they thought I was moved to tears. Blech! So if you watched the sex addict or cult shows, and saw me with tears streaming down my face, please know I was choking, that's all!
Made it through Dr. Phil and then off to TPIR! Everyone changed into the Marine spirit wear in the bus. Many of us made shirts. Mine is below...Drew Carey used to be a Marine and I found an old photo of him (the "former" Marine). Unfortunately, everyone thought that was a photo of my husband. Oh, well. It was fun to see how small and trapped in the 70s the studio really is. Drew Carey is everything you think he would be. I really enjoyed the taping and plan to wear my shirt and go again...and next time I will get to "Come on down!"
The best part of the day was just getting to spend some time with Deb. :)
