Day 4 - off to historic Williamsburg! Okay, I have to say, we really tried to cram way too much into this trip. Each day was so long and packed full of things to see and do, by the time we got to Williamsburg, about 75% of the family was done. I liked it. ;)

Historic Williamsburg is like stepping back into the late 1700s - from the wig shop and blacksmithee to the Redcoats taking over in the afternoon. We didn't stay long, just a look around and to enjoy some lunch, then on to the best thing in this part of the state - the Nells!

They were our next door neighbors in Monterey and we were thrilled that they were stationed in San Diego for a few years (and sad when they moved away again in 2005). They were kind enough to let us bunk at their house and both the kids and adults had a blast. As has been the theme for this trip - it was over too quickly.
